September TidBits.

Because not everyone has Twitter. 
Because 140 characters is too limiting. 

Mom and dad are out house hunting. I probably should have gone with them. But I heard its painful.

Dear tastebuds. October is around the corner. In other words, prepare for apples, cinnamon and pumpkin.

So the chilly autumn air goes around loosening all the padlocks that were keeping Christmas carols hidden away for the season. Too bad. Now they're running around rampant and dancing in my head ... " ... bringing the cheer to young and old, meek and the bold, la-dee-dee-daa"

University visit today: 
Admission's Counselor: "That's a big bag. You must get stuff lost in it all the time, I know I would."
 I just chuckled politely and nodded mutely because if she really must know that was one of my smaller bags. I mean, how else are you supposed to walk around with a mini first aid kit, an emergency "oh-my-goodness-it's-that-mean-girl-must-look-amazing kit", phone, wallet, journal, pens, pencils, candy, and a whole assortment of who knows what? This is the bag she's talking about: I mean, it's not thaaat big. Ok. Maybe it is. Kinda large. Maybe. But it beats the time I walked around with a bag bag. As in three times that big bag. Oh yes. I did.

You know when you're baking wonderfully soft, chewy cookies and suddenly while they're cooling they decide to become almond brittle consistency instead? Yeah. I hate that.

Overheard in the "Specialty Foods" aisle at a grocery store:
Wife - "Hmm... should we take some of these?"
Husband - *sigh* "Just take normal food."

(From that walk on Labor Day. That picture I told you to look closely at..)
Seen in the park yesterday:
A couple with a toddler and a dog.
The father pushed the stroller.
The mother held the leash.
The dog was in the stroller.
The toddler was on the leash.

Mkay. I've got a composition on shoes under my belt, now I just need one on how MacBeth is a tragic hero. Because obviously that'll make me well rounded in writing abilities. Or if I continue this pre-composition writing scenario of stuffing my face with cake and tea, just well rounded.

Sometimes I write Pinterest multiple times just to get on auto correct's sassy little nerves. I'm a bad girl like that.

Why haven't they figured out a m1 m2 m3 function for copying and pasting?


Today I went to the doctor. I actually didn't loathe him. Wanna know why? He knew that in Brazil we speak Portuguese not Spanish/Brazilian!



Just gave up on a comment after trying their word verification twice... PLEASE get rid of it friends.... 

I killed a spider today. Killed it myself. With my own shoe! Yep. I should get a Braveness Award or something.

Missing a stack of stationary paper. How does one simply "misplace" a whole stack of paper?! Seriously.. I must have a disorder...

  1. Your bag is not that big! I'm often made fun of because of the bags that I carry. Hey, you never know when you might be stranded somewhere and need a bandaid, book to read, knitting project to work on, water to drink, or notebook to write in....!
    Let's hear it for big bags, although my shoulder is starting to scream at me because of how much I carry...!

  3. You always make me smile with our fun observations! I am told to get "normal" food too. So funny. I think as a woman, we need "large" bags. The one I carry to work seems to growing in size weekly. (why am I always missing something that I should have in there, when it is so big?) Can't wait for apples and baking to start! Kudos on the spider, as I have my hubby get them. If it is a cricket, you will hear me a mile down the road.

  4. i wish i could have all the stuff i might possibly need at any time fit in my wallet. like Mary Poppins. but i haul around a big bag instead.

    1. Buttercream Frosting

      1/2 cup butter, softened
      1/2 cup vegetable shortening
      1 teaspoon vanilla
      4 cups powdered/confectioner's sugar--very important ;)
      2-3 tablespoons milk

      Cream butter and shortening together in medium/large bowl with electric mixer. Add vanilla and mix well. Add sugar one cup at a time, using the mixer in between cups to be sure sugar is thoroughly incorporated. Remember to scrape sides of bowl often. Once sugar is thoroughly mixed in, add milk a little at a time to get desired consistency. (How much you need will depend on the humidity in your work area among other factors. You'll want it thinner to spread and a little thicker to decorate with.) Makes approx. 3 cups of (WARNING) addictive buttercream frosting. Frosting can be stored in the refrigerator tightly covered for a week or so or even frozen in an airtight container for several months. When using cold frosting, you'll want to let it reach room temperature and then whip it with mixer to return it to desired consistency. One last thing--the original recipe called for unsalted butter, and unsalted butter would seem the most logical choice, but one time I forgot to get the unsalted and just used the salted--and ever since, my (not noticeably salty) frosting has been legendary! :)

  8. We had a few chill days that made my winter blood sing! Of course, it was only TWO days and now it's hot again, but it was awesome. :-)

    I'll admit I have the hardest time following/commenting on Blogger blogs. Mainly because, I use my iphone as a reader and the word verification is heck by phone. :-)

    I am so behind on your blog, but know, I adore you. :-).

  9. I have a right old laugh at this.If you need that much in your back now what are you going to be like when you have babies? Wipes,bottles,nappies,comforter,cream,teething gel etc...
    I agree with you about word verification it takes so long if you visit a lot of blogs,I don't have it and have only ever had two spam comments which I deleted-simples!
